The Avery and Bea Yates McClanahan Endowed Scholarship Fund

Dr. Charlene M. Lutes, Professor Emeritus of Biology and genetics, established this endowment to support a Radford student pursuing a major in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Lutes is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, and a National Science Foundation Cooperative Graduate Fellow. Currently, Dr. Lutes resides with her husband in Auckland New Zealand.

The scholarship recipient must be a lifelong resident of one of the Virginia Counties of Bland, Wythe, Carroll, Smyth, Grayson, Washington, Tazewell, Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, Lee, Scott, Wise or the city of Galax. Recipient also must be an undergraduate student maintaining a 3.0 GPA and be currently enrolled full-time, or qualify for admission to the University through the Radford Scholarship Program.
