Christine Rea Memorial Scholarship

Rowena Christine Rea established this scholarship fund through her estate plan. It was her desire to create this scholarship for students majoring in Teacher Education at Radford. She was born in 1902 and died in 1990. She graduated from Radford in 1948 and taught school for 42 years. She had a great love for Radford and education. She was quoted as saying; “Education is probably the answer for saving the world.”

Recipient must have declared major in Teacher Education and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. First priority is given to applicants from Henry County or Patrick County, then to those of the Commonwealth of Virginia at large.
