Commonwealth Care--Nursing

The purpose of the scholarship is to support students in the School of Nursing in the Waldron College of Health and Human Services at Radford University. The scholarship will provide full in-state tuition for a second year student in the School of Nursing. The scholarship contact is the President of Commonwealth Care, Mr. David Tucker.

Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in the Radford University School of Nursing.
b) Must maintain a minimum 3.4 GPA.
c) Preference is given to a student intending to work in the field of geriatrics.
d) Preference is given to a student who will have exposure/academic required clinical rotation at the Radford Health and Rehab Center. This student will be eligible to complete up to 90 of their required 600 hours at this facility (Gerontology rotation).
e) Must agree to work for a Commonwealth Care affiliated facility after graduation for one year (12 months) for every academic year of receiving the scholarship funds.
f) Nursing students can work in any Commonwealth Care affiliated facility in Virginia assuming facility hiring criteria are satisfied.
g) The selection of the students will be made at the discretion of the Director of the School of Nursing and/or his/her designee.
