Avery, Keeton, Carper Memorial Fund

Scholarship Information

Byrd Lochtie decided to create this endowment in memory of her mother, Mary Louise Steele Avery and her friends, Hilda Shipley Carper and Doris Tinsley Keeton. The trio became close friends while attending Radford College. They all graduated in the 1920’s and remained close friends throughout their lifetimes. While Mrs. Lochtie’s mother was attending Radford, her uncle Dr. Joseph Alexander Noblin was the college physician. Family members and friends together contributed to make this scholarship a reality.
