Robert J. Young Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Information

In May of 1989, Dr. Robert J. Young passed away after a long illness. He left behind a legacy of involvement at the University. Dr. Young served as a professor of Business Education, Registrar, and Dean of Instruction during his 27-year career at Radford. Dr. Young was always very interested in and committed to his students. Together with friends, family, faculty and alumni, the Radford Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa (of which Dr. Young was a 51 year member) established a memorial endowment in his name in order to award excellence and interest in Teacher Education. His wife died in 1999.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student.
  • Have applied to and met the criteria for the Teacher Education Program.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • FAFSA required.
