Mary Gillespie Sutton Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Brenda Wright created this scholarship in memory of her mother, Mary Gillespie Sutton, who served 46 years in the medical field as a Registered Nurse (pediatrics and cardiology) and a Certified Occupational Health Nurse, including tenure at the Radford Hospital. Mary was passionate about caring for others and volunteered for several organizations, including the Salvation Army and the St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC. She also volunteered at the hospital with her certified therapy dog Lulu.

Scholarship Criteria

• Students must be accepted into the School of Nursing Program within the Waldron College of Health and Human Services.
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
• Applicants will be required to submit an essay.
