Ramona Rose Howell/Shirley Rose Powell Scholarship

Scholarship Information

This scholarship was established as a memorial and an honorary. It symbolizes the love that existed between two sisters. Ms. Powell created the scholarship as a memorial to her sister Ms. Howell. Ms. Howell was a retired teacher. The fund provides assistance to students in the field of Teacher Education who demonstrate financial need.

Scholarship Criteria

• Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student.
• Be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
• Have completed at least 56 credit hours.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• FAFSA required.
• Must reapply, meeting the minimum criterion.
• Eligible for renewal if met.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
