Scholarship Information

The Priscilla Burns Moore Scholarship for Elementary School Counseling was established in memory of Priscilla, by her husband David J. Moore. Priscilla earned her M.S. degree in Elementary Guidance in 1968 from Radford University. She established the first elementary level guidance program in the Radford City school system. She continued her work as a guidance counselor, providing critically important guidance and counseling for thousands of Radford City elementary students until she retired in 1999. This scholarship will support students who aspire to be elementary school counselors and want to make a difference in the lives of young children.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Must have completed candidacy in the Counselor Education Program.
  • Must be enrolled in the master’s program in School Counseling.
  • Preference given to students who have experience as an Elementary School Teacher (student teaching is acceptable) and aspire to become and Elementary School Counselor.
  • Applicants must submit an essay explaining why they are interested in becoming an Elementary School Counselor.
