Gerry Montgomery Meador Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Information

As a birthday present, this scholarship fund was established in the name of Gerry M. Meador, a 1940 graduate of Radford College. After receiving her Bachelors of Science in English and Social Studies, Mrs. Meador went on to pursue a career in the teaching profession. For over 20 years, she was a dedicated supporter of Radford’s Alumni Association. She was actively involved in the planning and restoration of Lucas Hall, served on the Foundation’s Scholarship committee and Board of Directors, was appointed to the Board of Visitors by Governor Robb, and received the Outstanding Service Award from the National Alumni Association. In addition to her efforts in promoting the University, Mrs. Meador was extremely active in community affairs, working with both music and women’s groups.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Must be involved in University or community activities.
  • May be continuing, if student continues to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Recipient must reapply to be considered.
  • FAFSA required.
