Virginia Arnold Scholarship for the Department of Exercise, Sport, & Health Education

Scholarship Information

This scholarship was established to recognize and honor Ms. Arnold for her leadership and dedication to the Physical Education Dept. at Radford University. It was created by Nancy Barber ‘42, a former student of Ms. Arnold’s, as a tribute to her former teacher. Ms. Barber went on to become a RU Professor of Health and Physical Education until her retirement.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Applicants of this scholarship must be an Exercise, Sport and Health Education major, with a teaching option.
  • Must have completed 10 semester hours in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education.
  • Must have completed 80 semester hours, at least 30 at Radford.
  • The applicant also must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in major courses and overall.
  • Must have been active in the ESHE Majors Club or some other related professional activity.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and campus involvement.
  • Must not be, nor ever have been, on 20 or more weeks of disciplinary probation or suspension from any institution of higher learning.
