Dr. David W. Peters Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Information
Much of Dr. David Peter’s career was dedicated to combating the prejudices of women as less intelligent and unable to be successful in their career. Dr. Peters succeeded Dr. John Preston McConnell as the second president of Radford College in January of 1938. He remained president until his death in 1951. Peters Hall, named for Dr. Peters, houses the department of dance and the College of Education and Human Development.

The Dr. David W. Peters Scholarship was established by the family of Dr. Peters in honor of his many contributions to not only Radford University, but to the enhancement of equal education for women.
