George Everett & Matsue Yamazaki Dewese Scottish Rite Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Mr. Dewese attended Auburn High School and this scholarship is intended for students from Montgomery County, with preference going to students from Shawsville and Auburn High Schools. The Deweses established the scholarship because they were interested in business and they were not able to attend college. Mr. Dewese was a 33 degree Scottish Rite Freemason.

Shawsville residents George and Matsue Dewese established this scholarship to assist students in their pursuit of a degree in Business or Economics at Radford University.

Scholarship Criteria

• Must be a full-time student enrolled at Radford University.
• Must remain in good academic standing and under normal circumstances must have a minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.8 prior to the beginning of the senior year.
• Priority given to an incoming freshman student with scholarship renewable for four years if GPA requirement is met.
• Priority given to students who demonstrate financial need.
