Thomas E. Hamlett Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Through combined efforts of the Minority Students Affairs Council, the Black Student Affairs Council, and the Black Greek Council, the Minority Student Scholarship Fund was established in 1988. Private donations, proceeds from the Delta Sigma Theta Step Show and others continue to contribute to the scholarship fund. The scholarship was named in memory of freshman student Thomas E. Hamlett, Jr. after his untimely death from spinal meningitis in 1992.

Scholarship Criteria

• Must be a rising Sophomore.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.2 GPA.
• Must have demonstrated leadership and individual involvement in his or her freshman year.
