Mr. Luther & Mrs. Helen Dickens International Scholarship
Scholarship Information
Helen and Luther Dickens endowed this scholarship in 1999. They wanted to assist Radford University freshmen who are interested in international studies with priority given to students who graduated from a Southwest Virginia high school. Mrs. Dickens is a 1983 RU graduate who received a B.A. in Spanish. Several members of the Dickens family are RU graduates including her daughter Heidi, a 1978 graduate, her daughter Trayanna, a 2005 graduate, her son Allen, a 2008 graduate, her daughter-in-law Teresa, a 2010 graduate and her niece Linda, a 1983 graduate.
Scholarship Criteria
- Must be a first year student who is interested in international studies at Radford University.
- Applicants must submit a 250 word description of their interest in international studies as part of the application.
- Must maintain a minimum of a 3 .0 grade point average.
