Mendiola-Cole Leadership Scholarship

Scholarship Information

This scholarship was created by George Mendiola a 2000 Radford University graduate and Levar Cole a 2002 Radford University graduate. Both were leaders at RU and benefited from scholarship support. They wanted to give back to RU and endowed this scholarship to assist students that have contributed to Radford University.

Scholarship Criteria

• Must be a full-time undergraduate (rising sophomore or higher) or graduate student.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA (undergraduates) or 3.7 GPA (graduates).
• Must have demonstrated leadership abilities at Radford through participation in extracurricular activities that promote the welfare of all students.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
• Must not be, nor have ever been, on 12 or more weeks of disciplinary probation or suspension from Radford University.
• Must be recommended by a member of the University or Radford communities.
• Must write an essay on the following topic: “What are your long-term goals and how would serving the RU and Radford Communities contribute to those goals?”
