Winston & Elma Stanley Dowdy Scholarship

Scholarship Information

This award was established in memory of Mrs. Dowdy’s husband, Winston Dowdy. The scholarship recognizes the dedication, service and commitment of Mrs. Dowdy to her alma mater. Mrs. Dowdy graduated from Radford in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business education. She was a member of the RU National Alumni Association, a Member of the Society of 1910, and served on the Outstanding Alumni Awards Committee. She was active in the university community since graduation, supporting many university projects. She passed away in 2007, her estate plan included RU and contributed to several scholarships in her name.

Scholarship Criteria

• Must remain registered as a full-time student.
• Must be a full-time student and have upper-class status.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
