Kathryn S. Harshberger Scholarship for Early Childhood Development
Scholarship Information
Kathryn (Kate) Harshberger `91 was known as a faithful community volunteer and dedicated Radford University employee. Kate volunteered in a second grade classroom helping children with reading and math. She taught many children to read and did so with the Literacy Volunteers of America. Kate loved children and they loved her. When she passed away on March 5, 2016 at the age of 50, her family decided to create this scholarship to honor her memory and to allow her contributions to continue. Support from Kate’s family, friends and colleagues was overwhelming and the scholarship quickly reached endowment status.
