Warren and Judy Self Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship Information
Friends and colleagues of Dr. Warren Self established this scholarship in honor of his years of service to Radford University. Dr. Self has served Radford in a number of roles including Professor of English, Chair of the English Department, Associate Vice President for Academic Enrichment, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Planning and Research. His leadership and involvement in endeavors such as Faculty Development, Writing Across Curriculum, UNIV 100, Academic Advising Centers, RU Connections, the Honors Academy, the Undergraduate-Graduate Forum and many others has greatly enriched the University community. This scholarship was intended to reward distinguished new freshmen for their academic achievements.
Scholarship Criteria
- Must be a full-time rising sophomore currently enrolled in Radford University.
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- May not have any disciplinary probation on conduct record.
- Must have demonstrated campus leadership and/or campus involvement.
- Must write an essay of 500 words or less “Making a Successful Transition to Radford University.†Essay review and selection of award recipient will be the responsibility of the Office of Academic Enrichment. The essay selected will appear in the University 100 textbook.
