Scholarship Information
The Kelsey Patton Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Kelsey Alanna Patton, a bright and compassionate student who tragically passed away in 2024 before completing her graduate studies at Radford University. Kelsey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Radford in 2023 and was on track to receive her Master’s degree in the spring of 2025.
Kelsey was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and loving nature. Her passion for helping others shone through in everything she did, from providing support at the Radford University speech clinic to teaching at a summer speech camp for children. To honor her memory and ensure that her legacy continues, her family, friends, and clients established this scholarship to support future students at Radford University. The outpouring of support was overwhelming, and the scholarship quickly reached endowment status, ensuring Kelsey’s contributions will continue to inspire and impact others for years to come.
Criteria
• Graduate students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 scale
• Financial need
• Preference for a 2nd year graduate student
• Preference for a student who plans to work in a school setting
