Linda Rose Killen Scholarship

Scholarship Information

This scholarship was established in the memory of Dr. Killen to benefit students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Killen taught History for 26 years at Radford University before retiring in 2001. She received many honors including the Donald N. Dedmon Award for Professional Excellence in 1985. She was a Fulbright Research Scholar to Yugoslavia in 1986 and a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center in 1988. Although Dr. Killen had lived all over the world, she came to view the New River Valley as her home.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Must be a History major.
  • Must be a rising junior or senior.
  • Must have a 3.4 major GPA and a 3.0 overall GPA.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Academic merit will be the primary criteria for selection but financial need may also be considered.
  • First semester transfer students are not eligible.
  • FAFSA required.
  • May be continuing for second year if the recipient meets the GPA requirement.
  • Must reapply to be considered.
