Dr. Herta Freitag Scholarship in Geriatric Nursing

Scholarship Information

Dr. Freitag established this scholarship to provide assistance to a student deemed gifted and dedicated to the geriatric nursing profession at Radford University. Originally from Austria, Dr. Freitag made her way to America. She wrote of her experiences during the Third Reich in a biography entitled, /One-Way Ticket to America. Dr. Freitag was a Hollins University professor in mathematics and remained active in the academic world through conferences and papers that made numerous contributions to the field of mathematics until her death at age 91 in January of 2000.

Scholarship Criteria

• Applicants must be a student who is deemed gifted and dedicated to the geriatric nursing profession.
