Nancy Necessary Pridemore Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Ms. Nancy Pridemore established this scholarship to benefit a student in Theatre or Speech from Southwestern Virginia. Ms. Pridemore taught speech and drama at Dobyns-Bennett High School for 39 years. She retired from teaching in 1985. She was the director for the Seniors Group at Renaissance Center in Kingsport. Ms. Pridemore was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma at Radford. This scholarship reflects her love of teaching and theatre. Pridemore Playhouse, the theater in Porterfield Hall, was named in her honor.

Scholarship Criteria

• Recipient must have declared a major in Theatre or Speech.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
