Virginia Strader Nunn Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Virginia “Ditty” Strader Nunn was a 1944 Radford graduate who majored in Home Economics. Her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Strader Moore also attended Radford College and is a 1950 graduate who majored in Physical Education.

Mrs. Moore established this scholarship in 2006 in memory of her sister, “Ditty”. She also had another sister, Margaret Strader Bradford of Alexandria, VA., was a 1957 graduate who majored in Education.

Scholarship Criteria

  • The scholarship is restricted to an entering freshman who qualifies for the Radford University Presidential Scholarship Program, or to a currently enrolled undergraduate student who has a minimum grade point average of 3.5. The scholarship is renewable contingent upon maintaining a minimum grade point average or 3.0 with proficient progress toward completion of a degree program.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities and involvement in campus and community activities.
  • Scholarship is restricted to citizens of the United States of America, preference given to a student from the New River Valley area
  • Student must plan to pursue a degree in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership.
