Dr. Mary Brigid Gallagher Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1985 as a memorial to a dedicated teacher. Dr. Gallagher was a professor in the Speech department and was well liked by all. Dr. Gallagher died unexpectedly, at age 64, only four months before her retirement. Her friends, family and faculty created the scholarship in order to provide financial assistance to students in the Speech department.

Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student with upper level standing, have a declared major in either the Speech Communication or Radio-TV concentration within the Speech major, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and 3.0 in Communication, demonstrate leadership qualities in extracurricular or community activities and must not be, nor ever have been, on 20 weeks or more of disciplinary probation or suspension from any academic institution of higher learning.
