Nancy Necessary Pridemore Scholarship

Ms. Nancy Pridemore established this scholarship to benefit a student in Theatre or Speech from Southwestern Virginia. Ms. Pridemore taught speech and drama at Dobyns-Bennett High School for 39 years. She retired from teaching in 1985. She was the director for the Seniors Group at Renaissance Center in Kingsport. Ms. Pridemore was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma at Radford. This scholarship reflects her love of teaching and theatre. Pridemore Playhouse, the theater in Porterfield Hall, was named in her honor. Mrs. Pridemore died in April of 2003.

Recipient must have declared a major in Theatre or Speech and must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students from South Western Virginia.
