Dr. Michael W. Cronin Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Upon Dr. Cronin’s retirement in 2002, the Scholarship was created by family and colleagues in honor of his dedicated years of service to RU. The Scholarship reached endowment status in 2007. Dr. Cronin, Professor Emeritus of Communication, was the recipient of the 1985 Radford University Foundation Award of Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Cronin has done extensive consulting for government, private, and educational institutions.

Scholarship Criteria

• Must be a full-time undergraduate student with upper-level standing.
• Must have a declared major in Communication.
• Must maintain a 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in Communication.
• Must demonstrate leadership qualities in University or community activities.
• Previous recipients of the Cronin Scholarship are ineligible to receive this award.
• Must demonstrate financial need. FAFSA required.
• Must not be, nor have ever been, on 20 weeks or more of disciplinary probation or suspension from any academic institution of higher learning.
