J. Kendall Whitaker III Memorial Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. J. Kendall Whitaker Jr. and his Sigma Epsilon fraternity brothers established this scholarship in memory of Kendall, a Radford University student. Kendall died as a result of a car accident. The scholarship will benefit a student from Mills E. Godwin Jr. High School in Richmond, Virginia who, like Kendall, has participated in extracurricular activities or community service.

Priority consideration is given to a graduating senior from Mills Godwin High School in Richmond, VA who will attend Radford University. If no Godwin graduating senior is chosen, the scholarship can be awarded to a senior graduating from high school in Henrico County or an existing Radford student who has received the scholarship in the past. The scholarship is not need nor race based and is not gender specific.

Candidate should be active in athletics in high school and may or may not pursue athletics at Radford. Athletic involvement is not a mandatory prerequisite. Grades do not have to be a determining factor but applicant should be well liked and respected by his/her peers. Additional consideration is given to students participating in other extracurricular activities and clubs.
