RUC-Rita M. Bishop Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor Rita M. Bishop, R.N., B.S.N., by friends upon her retirement. She dedicated her career (over 35 years) to operating room services. Her work served to promote operating room nursing education and recognition. Mrs. Bishop was always forward thinking and kept “her OR’s” on the forefront of technology, nursing practice and excellent patient care processes.

• Provides assistance for tuition, books and other related fees to a student enrolled in the Radford University Carilion (RUC)
• Student must have an interest in surgical nursing or be entering into the adopt-a-student nursing program
• Must have a college grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Student must be entering their junior year at RUC
