The 2020-2021 Foundation Scholarship application cycle runs Dec. 1 through Feb. 5. unless otherwise indicated

Apply for Radford University’s foundation scholarships and you could join the many students who have already received great scholarship awards! With approximately 1.7 million dollars to award, there will be over 700 separate awards made for the 2029-2021 academic year.

If you previously submitted a general application for the 2019-2020 academic year, your application will populate with your previous information when you log on. However, to be considered for 2020-2021 scholarships, you must click the submit button. You will have the opportunity to edit and add additional information to your general application through Wednesday, Feb. 5th. Note: after clicking on the submit button, you will be able to see the apply-to opportunities for which you have been matched, that require you to take an extra step or steps to be considered. When you click on the apply-to scholarships, follow the directions to be considered in those application pools.

Radford University and Radford University Carilion students, as well as incoming students who have been accepted, who have paid their deposits and logged-on to their MyRU accounts are able to log-on to this scholarship portal to complete and submit the general application. To log-on, students will click on the black sign in button and use their MyRU user name and password. Scholarship eligibility varies for each scholarship. Major, merit, financial need and leadership experience may be considered. Completing the FAFSA, writing essays or including references may be required for some scholarships.

Students’ applications will be auto-matched with some scholarship opportunities based on meeting the criteria set for those scholarships. Once matched, students’ applications will be considered as a part of a pool of applicants reviewed by various scholarship committees throughout the university. (Auto-matched scholarship opportunities will not be visible to students.)

Students’ applications may also be matched with “apply-to” scholarship opportunities. These opportunities will show up in students’ scholarship portals as part of a list with an apply button that students can click for additional instructions. Each of the apply-to scholarships will have an additional step or steps that must be taken for students to be considered. Steps may include providing an essay, reference request, or an answer to a question or questions.

Award notifications will be sent in April via email from foundscholar@radford.edu.

Questions may be directed to Cherie Durbin in the Financial Aid Office: cdurbin2@radford.edu.
